Parents of Claret School in Quezon City are now assured that their children are safely in their school through a system developed jointly by Claret and Sun Business' Message Cast service. As soon as the students swipe their identification (ID) cards into the machine at the school gate, the system immediately informs their parents via text/SMS that their children are already in school. The same process applies when the students swipe their ID's at dismissal time. All of this is in real time powered by the Sun Cellular network.

The Sun Message Cast is also used to announce reminders, upcoming activities or events, and notifications in cases of class suspensions. It is open to all parents, regardless of networks they subscribe to. "Our target beneficiaries are the parents and the students," says Ruth Merilyn Nicdao, Claret Software Engineer, adding, "our students have become more disciplined because of this service."
